Health Awareness Drive Reaches Remote Villages

Tezpur District Mahila Samiti (TDMS) recently organized an extensive health awareness drive across remote villages in Assam, focusing on preventive healthcare, maternal health, and nutrition. This initiative aimed to educate women about common health concerns such as anemia, malnutrition, reproductive health, and hygiene practices, ensuring that they have access to crucial health information and services.

Medical professionals and healthcare workers collaborated with TDMS to provide free health check-ups and consultations. Women were given guidance on maintaining a balanced diet, understanding early warning signs of illnesses, and accessing government healthcare schemes. Special sessions were conducted on menstrual hygiene and maternal care, addressing widespread taboos and misconceptions that often prevent women from seeking timely medical assistance.

The response from the community was overwhelmingly positive, with many women expressing their gratitude for the initiative. For many participants, this was their first opportunity to receive professional medical advice. TDMS plans to continue these efforts by organizing more such health awareness camps, ensuring that rural women and their families receive the care and knowledge they need to lead healthier lives. By prioritizing health education and access to medical resources, TDMS is working toward building a stronger and healthier future for women in Assam.
